About

Currently:
Director of Th.D. Studies
OT Editor for Evangelical Theological Commentary (Logos)

Before joining The Master's Seminary faculty in 1997, I served with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE). In 1981 I and my family moved to Bangladesh where I served as the Exegetical Consultant for Bible translation projects, theological consultant for the Literature Division, and adjunct faculty member of the Baptist Bible Institute of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Theological Seminary, and Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary Extension Program (Singapore--now located in Chiang Mai, Thailand).

From 1972 to 1978 I was Professor and Chairman of the Old Testament Department at Denver Baptist Theological Seminary.

As a result of my fifteen years of Bible translation ministry in Bangladesh, I have participated in the production of Bibles, New Testaments, and Bible sections in six different languages. While in Bangladesh I participated in the editing of over twenty books and tracts, including a Bengali translation of Unger's Bible Handbook. I also published a commentary on Bengali, co-authored with John Sircar.

During my doctoral studies I worked as a phototypesetter and proofreader for Eisenbrauns. One of the works in which I was involved in those capacities was the first fascicle of The Hittite Dictionary of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago (1980), Michael Patrick O'Connor's Hebrew Verse Structure (1978), and David Noel Freedman's Poetry, Poetry and Prophecy (1980).
